Taurus/sable Fender

Hi, I am new to this forum...a workstudy in my office suggested I join a club like this...

My question is about Taurus/Sable parts.

I have a 1993 Taurus with a damaged passenger side (right) fender.

Will a Sable fender replace it?

I had two junk yards tell me it has to be a Ford, but I can't imagine why...

After traipsing around in FOUR junkyards (in the mud) that claimed to have the correct fender on the phone and not finding a single Taurus of the correct generation with the right fender intact, we actually saw a Sable with the right fender that was even WHITE, but we left empty handed because they said it had to be Ford.

Question #2:

The University I work for is having an auction this Saturday and they have some Tauri that they are selling (fleet vehicles). Apparently they go pretty cheap and are frequently white. They are 1995 models; will this fender fit my vehicle?

Thanks for any advice

Not sure about the first question but I know that '95 parts will definitely fit your car. The years 1992-1995 are all the same model; only small aesthetic differences seperate them.
Woo hoo!

I thought so, but I wanted to make sure. The junkyard people said 92-94.I don't think I'll listen to them anymore
Try using this site to find fenders. I did a quick search on both 93 Taurus and Sable and noticed two things. For Taurus, not considering the SHO, there are two sorts of fenders listed for 92-95: w/ moulding holes and w/o molding holes. For Sable there is not that choice, but the search on Sable fenders turns up both Sable and Taurus fenders. So, there must have been two styling choices for Gen 2 (92-95) Taurus: perhaps for s small style change or perhaps a difference between trim levels. They may interchange between Sable and Taurus, but be sure to look at what you get carefully.
The Sable Fender Wont Fit.. I think

But the Taurus Fleet Cars that they are selling, those will fit on your car.. Since it is a 2nd Gen

The Sable has a longer corner light (like the SHO - which guess what? Uses the same fender as a Sable!), so it will look odd to have one short and one long corner light on each side of the car. Otherwise, it will fit.

The Sable has a cornering light in the fender so unless you grab both fenders and the cornering lights, it will look akward.

And '92-'95 Taurus fenders will fit.

The Gen2 Sable fenders are the same as the (Gen2) SHOs. They are not the same as the regular Taurus. The difference is the wrap-around marker light cut-outs.

I need a new driver-side fender myself. The local junk yard is full of 'em for around $40-ish. I'd just like to find a color match....
