My '08 Taurus engine has a bad head gasket leak. I tried Blue Devil gasket sealer but it didn't work. I watched someone on YouTube replace the head gasket on a Taurus but it isn't easy to do and I don't have some of the tools needed. Now I know why garages charge so much. But, I have found either an '08 or '09 Sable at a junkyard. It was in a wreck and I'm pretty sure that the engine is in good shape. A parts puller checked it out and it isn't locked up and no chocolate milk in the engine and no oil leaks.
My question is, will is be an easy engine swap? Will a 3.5 from the Sable go right into the Taurus motor mounts? Is there anything that will make this difficult? Will there be any computer issue's, wiring issues? Any issue that will make this a bad decision. I'm not a trained mechanic and I do most of my auto repairs myself, but I've never tackled anything like this before. I appreciate any and all replys. Thanks
