I have an MP3 player spliced into my JBL RCU. In the mornings and late at night it works fine but during the afternoon the tape ejects after less than a minute of playing. ED1 is displayed on the LCD for a few seconds they it switches back to radio.

Had anyone experienced this before? Any clue what causes it or may fix it?

Don't see the ED1 but you can look this over. Do you really have a JBL RCU? Did you install this over the stock unit?

I think it's probably saying E01 (zero - one), meaning Error 01. I think error 01 is just a generic 'mechanism error' code. Not really sure what could be causing it, maybe something jamming the tape or possibly the unit having a hard time reading it?

Mine says TDE and does that. Only every now and then :dunno:

I had to replace the head unit when my tape player stopped working. It would flip from side A to side B a few times and then spit the tape out, sometimes it would say TDE1, sometimes TDE3, and other times, it would flash both.

My gen3 used to do the same exact thing. I would get the TDE code. I sold it before I ever tried to fix it.
