had her parked over night over a small snow bank, took a little spinning of the wheels on wet grass to get her back over.

when i say small snow bank, i mean SMALL.......

pulled her out, reversed out the driveway, shifted to drive, and she died. When i went to crank her up again, i could hear it turning over, but the engine wouldnt kick it. Let it rest for a couple of minutes, tried again, gave very little gas, and she started back up, but slowly..... let her idle for about 30 seconds, then drove around the block for a minute, and she seemed fine.

Parked her in the driveway again, went inside for about 30 minutes, and came back out and she started right up.

Is there anything i should check???

Couple things i do know:
1) need new motor mount....working on getting that done soon
2) need new exhaust system....probably gonna get a custom cat-back dual tail pipe thing going

but as far as i know, everything else is ok.....

any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

I can't think of anything, but what year & engine do you have? This would be useful to others trying to make recommendations.
Best of luck.

My 97 vulcan is having that issue too. I have found a way to duplicate the problem. Leave the car out in the cold (around 0 degrees) for around 10 hours, and it will crank long and hard, then start. Once you kick it into gear, it will stall out. Had to drive my mom's minivan for a few days 'till the weather warmed up after I figured that one out. I now have a spot in to garage 'till this cold weather goes away. It's my temporary fix until I can look into the matter further.

yes, i DO have the 3.8 engine.....its a 1994

engine was replaced at 77K by ford dealer under recall, i'm at 113K.....

that passed 3 months i've been worried of the head gasket blowing, i dont know why, but just have a feeling......

She's driven fine since......no idea why she stalled.....it wasnt even crazy cold that day....lower to mid 40's.....makes no sense to me...

good thing is, i start a new job tomorrow, and i dont have to drive to work anymore, i'll be taking the bus from northern NJ into NYC.....so if she does crap out, i just hop in the car with my roommate to the bus stop......and even if i had to walk to the bus stop, its not HORRIBLE......

I could take it to someone and ask them to check out the whole car completely......had someone look at it just about a year ago when i had to get a tune up......we'll see

guess for now i can only hope for the best...

also, symptoms of blow head gasket???? i know puffy white smoke from exhaust, last time i also had no heat from heater, and a miss in the engine

will both ALWAYS happen? or is it possible for some symptoms to come on later? I believe with my last engine, the problem was REALLy REALLY bad, cause we werent so smart back then, and kept driving her for awhile.

thanks

I have the same problem with my 3.8, also a 94. I only have it tho when it is less then a quater of a tank of gas. I thought it may be because I don't have a gas cap or something. My dads cougar wont run with out it..I dunno.
