This car has been sitting for 3 years. I think the fuel pump may need to be replaced but before I do that I would like to syphon the old gas from the tank to see if that might work. The only problem is that it has a anti syphoning device inside it. How can I bypass?

Don't think there is a way to do that. My 2001 has a valve on the fuel rail in the engine compartment that would hook up a pressure gauge that had a vent tube. It would work but pump needed to work also. You would have to drop the tank with gas in it. The valve is a roll over spill preventer valve.

If pump runs then maybe you can hard wire it and put a hose on the fuel filter outlet and run to a gas can

^^^^^ Agreed.

I have always hotwired the pump and run a hose from the fuel filter outlet to gas cans. Trying to siphon gas thru the filler neck will not work.
