Swapping My 92lx For A 2001

My beloved and modestly modified '92 LX has caught the headgasket disease and I am buying a 2001 (non-LX) Taurus to replace it. Are the wheels interchangeable? How about the air filters (I have a nice K&N in the '92)? The '92 actually still runs OK and looks great inside and out so if anyone needs a 92 for a parts car or project...it has a rebuilt transmission with about a year left on the transmission warranty. Duals with dynamax mufflers, resonator removed. Great condition except for the headgasket problem. THANKS FOR ANY ADVICE.

Nope, wheels on Gen 4 are 16 inch. Gen 2 is 15 inch, unless youve got a SHO.

Not sure about the air filters, i dont think it will fit IIRC, but double check.

I would hang onto the mufflers and tips. You can have a shop do a custom job to dual out youre Gen 4.

Hey Gary, I gonna move this over to maintaince and repair, might get a little more feedback over there.

Sorry to hear about " Standard Issue" getting the boot, but I think you will like the Gen 4 much better.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but I think you'll really enjoy the upgrade. ;) :)

As far as swapping stuff, I agree with duratecchie. :)
