My 2002 Taurus is leaving a quarter size drop of oil each time I park it. The fluid is definately oil. The valve cover gaskets were done recently (20K ago) and I've ruled those out. The oil filter is secure ... but the source of the leak seems to be coming from above the oil filter .. drip pattern makes it tough to tell exactly. The leak seems too high to be the oil pan gasket. So if it is not that, the valve covers, or filter, what sits high enough up to generate this oil?:angry:-_-

Oil pressure switch is on the rear of the engine, toward the firewall. If the leak is on the rear of the engine then take a look at that. However if the oil leak is above the oil filter ( front of engine) then you will have to look at valve cover gaskets or head gasket. Although it's not common, it's possible.
