Hello guys, I just got both strut top mounts replaced with new gabriel units. To my surprise, both have the strut center holes larger than the old ones.after the replacement, when I turn the steering wheel both strut tops moves slightly, however, steering isn't difficult and they aren't making any noises. So, shall it be worthy of my concern? or, can overtightening the strut top nuts cause this? I really don't want to do it again as we discovered the whole process to be a major PITA. please give me your ideas, thanks!

I personally wouldn't want to drive a car where there was abnormal movement or play in any part of the suspension or steering system. In my recollection of replacing my struts there was no excessive clearance in the upper strut mounts when I replaced my struts and bearings.
