I have a 2002 Vulcan and sometimes when I get in to start it, it doesn't like the battery is dying. After about 4 tries it starts. but that 4th try it sounds like the battery is completely dead. I checked the voltage on the battery this morning and it was 12.3 and with the car running 14.3 so those are in the right range. The sticker on the battery says 9/05. Could it be the battery? I was thinking the fuel filter is starting to clog. I don't know where else to check.

FYI, the no load voltage on a battery tells you virtually nothing about its condition.
