I recently (about a week ago) purchased my first SHO, a black 92 MTX, and it has driven fine until yesterday. Now, the car can't idle without stalling. My Dad and I went to get an e-check yesterday, and everytime we had to come to a stop, it would stall out on us, so we just kept the RPM's up the entire time and eventually made it back home.

When we bought it, we knew the clutch was on the way out, but it was driving perfectly up until yesterday. We thought maybe the clutch wasn't fully disengaging, causing it to stall everytime the RPM's got to low, but it also stalls in neutral, which would rule out a non-disengaging clutch. We're having a mechanic (family friend) give it a tune-up tomorrow, and he'll also be fixing the clutch, but I was wondering if any of you have any idea what the problem could be before we do take it in.

Thanks

Yeah thanks, but I browsed over SHOTimes last night and already read that article. We've already planned to get it serviced, I just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone before, or if they know what's wrong.

Well, here's an update. Not 10 minutes after I post this question, I go outside, start up the SHO, and guess what, no stalling! I haven't taken it for a drive yet, so I don't know if this problem is going to start up again, but let's hope it doesn't.

Could be a crank position sensor going bad. However, that's replaced on a 60k service, which you're already planning on doing, so you should be set.
