Hi everyone,

It's been a while since i was here! I just noticed somethign with my car the other day and thought I'd pick the brains of everyone. When i turn my steering wheel to the left I notice a squeak. It happens if i do it a small turn, or if i crank it over. I only notice it if i am parking or stopped. It seems to be coming from the front left wheel area. what are a few possible causes of this?

Thanks!

is it a squeak or a rubbing sound?

The rubber boot area that the column attaches to at the firewall tends to make noise. Put your head down there and turn the steering wheel. If this area is the culprit then spray some silicone lube down there and work it in.

If it's not that, please let us know.

I strut mount can make a squeak noise. If you lift the front end and turn the wheel with the suspension unloaded does it still make the noise?
