Hello everyone, got a question. I have a 2001 SES with the Vulcan; last October I had the belt changed and the idler pulley. The belt was really worn. Now, in the mornings when the engine is cold, the belt starts squeaking. A friend suggested it might be the belt tensioner. But how do you know it is bad??? There are 3 lines on the top of it, two in the middle, one to the far right, and a reddish-pinkish indicator. My indicator is all the way to the right. Does this mean it is bad??? Or do you think I might just need to clean under my hood. Its been a year since I did that as well. Also, the belt does not squeal when the gas is pressed or when the AC is on. It only does this at idle when the engine is cold. When it is warmed up, the problem goes away. Could a little WD 40 on the pulleys make a difference??? Please help!!!
