I've been wondering why in the world my 0-60 times havent budged more than like 1/2 a second since last march. In that time i've kicked the crap out of the belt slip i had...
I got a slightly smaller pulley so i have an extra like 2 psi of boost (just shy of 11 now)
I installed an RPM 216/225 110 LCA cam with appropriate springs
New Supercoupe Crank for a little margin of safety with the boost+revving
Back then the camcorder videos were showing 9.2-10 secs 0-60 thats stock speeds, I attributed that to the belt slipping and actually robbing power instead of spinning the blower fast enough to add it.
Here we are almost a year later and the camcorder vids still show the same time when the car *FEELS* even stronger than ever, you cant add that much boost and such a "wild" cam and not gain any power so wtf??
Then it dawned on the that the speedo must be acting up or something, just slow to react to the rapid changes so I took out the gtec tonight...
Didnt even try that hard, TONS of wheel spin, slow shifting a** transmission and managed to get 7.8 secs 0-60. Whats the deal? thats been the problem all this time?
Anyway here are a couple of new vids:
the classic show a** shifting : slow shifting
(the reason you gotta ease off the gas at the top of 1st to keep from overrevving)
Damn slow a** transmission again: http://ruffryde.rapperdmx.com/videos/scrr-damn-tranny1.mpg
(wtf id up with hanging in 1st at only like 4.5K??)
a better zero to 60 where I tried to ease into the gas : http://ruffryde.rapperdmx.com/videos/scrr-...60-01212004.mpg
(i now know that the speedo is slow to react, but still, watch it anyway
)
One of my favs: a quick zero to 40 (didnt want it to shift out of 1st)

Below are the cause for concern videos, the reason i made this thread : http://www.taurusclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1351
Ever since i ran through this pretty puddle like a month or so ago i've been hearing this faint (sometimes not so faint) intermittent ticking from the engine (GRRRRR).
I checked the pushrods and rockers : fine
Checked all the rod bearings : fine but changed them anyway
Checked the bottom 1/2 of the main bearings : fine.
Unhooked the belt to make sure it wasnt an accessory and the noise was still there
i'm honestly a little stumped now.
this is the sound:
