Today I called in to the dealership to schedule an appointment for an oil change. I get oil changes free at this dealership for life because I bought the car from them. So I call in and a woman picks up the phone, I don't think too much of it. I schedule the appointment, and she asks if I will be bringing my own oil filter. I say I am not sure so she goes to check to make sure there is one in stock in case I do not bring my own. So I wait about 5 minutes then she comes back on the phone. "Sir, how big is the engine?"
"It is a 3.4L V8."
"3.4L V8?"
"Yes, it is the SHO."
"Does that have 4 cylinders?" You gotta be kidding me!!
"No, it has a V8..."
"Oh, so does that mean it has 8 cylinders?" Argggghhhh!!
"Um...yes"
So I wait another 5 minutes on hold while she checks to make sure they have oil filters in stock for the V8 that apparently has 8 cylinders.
Are dealerships hiring just anybody lately? I mean one would think that someone answering phones at a car dealership would know that a V8 has 8 cylinders. It is not that hard a concept to grasp, is it?
