I had the California smog test done today and comparing to the last one done two years ago, the significant changes are:

%CO2 went from 10.4 to 15
%O2 went from 0 to 6.15
HC went from 0 to 7 ppm

All other readings were the same:

CO% = .00 or .01 depending on the speed
NO ppm = 0

Assuming technician did not make an error, I was wondering what the increases in CO2, O2 and HC imply, if anyone cares to speculate.

BTW, these numbers were well within what was allowed to pass.

Maximum allowed:

HC ppm: 52 @ 15 mph, 36 @ 25 mph
