There is an MX-6 running around here with ground effects and side exhaust. It is a rectagle shape outlet, about 6" by 1". Looks shheeeeeet, even though it is import it is clean and not riced out. I don't know what it does to performance though.

im gonna have a muff b4 the pipe gets to the sides. its gonna be all custom piping. and its gonna be true duals with a "H" pipe. itll do the same as any other exuahst mod, maybe a lil more due to the shorter piping

where do you plan to run the pipes under the car? And using an H-pipe how do you plan to compensate for the pipe coming off the front manifold being longer than the pipe coming off the rear manifold due to the transverse engine layout?

It's going to be a challenge to fit it under there. Not much space. You will likely have to give up some ground clearance.

Plus, isn't your car....a Taurus?

Good luck playing, I know this wouldn't work on my 96, the side skirts sit as low as the chassis. To run a pipe out the side would require cutting the chassis as well as relocating both the brake lines and fuel lines. Fun!

If you do decide to try this, you should look into the long, cylindrical mufflers. Maybe that way you can run them right by the rocker panels. Just be careful that your side skirts don't sag down from the heat and melt.

These are what I'm talking about.
