So, my 00 Taurus needs new pads and rotors (one of the rotors is warped, judging from wobble I get on steering wheel when braking hard).
Here is my question. Tirerack.com has Brembo brake rotos and Powerslot rotors.
Should I go with plain undrilled/unslotted Brembo's Replacement Brembo- $44 each - link or should I go get generic OEM spec stuff from AutoZone.

Also, should I stick with Motorcraft brake pads (where can I get them besides the stealership?) or is it OK to buy OEM compound pads from tirerack.com (Satisfied Pro Perform OEM Pads) Link to the pads

Just go with the generic rotors, they are 20 bucks or so at autozone.

The pads are another story. On my 2000 I have performance friction semi metallic pads from autozone. They work great, better than OEM.

In three years and 40k with my '01 SE, I went through four sets of rotors; OEM and Brembo OEM replacements. All performed about the same. I have been pretty satisfied with the performance of a set of ceramic pads. Great wear, good feel and very little dust. The only thing I noticed was that the pads take a little longer to seat after you resurface the rotor; light squeaking.

Good luck.
