Own3d by the swear filter!

BTW, I don't think it will bolt up. The easiest mod would be a computer chip to firm up the shifts ($200-250.) The next level would be a shift kit for the trans. Beyond that, you could send your tranny to an experienced tranny rebuilder and have them beef it up.

This has been discussed many many times in the old forums. It should bolt up to a vulcan IIRC, but not the essex. In either case it would be a royal pain in the butt to do (read you do not want to spend the time to go through it all). But if you still are willing to try there are many people here who can help you through what you should theoretically have to do.

shift kit should run around $50-100...but its not the price of the kit itself that'll kill you; it's the labor. Usually, the shift kit is done during a tranny rebuild because it requires you to get inside the transmission and drill extra holes for fluid and changing springs inside the case. Get the chip; I remember reading on the old forums of hard shifting transmissions on a couple of the Apten-chipped cars. I think someone actually had to send theirs back to get the chip to make less firm shifts because it was snapping theirs necks
