Hey Gang:
Would the 3rd Gen SHO front brakes be better than the 4th Gen front brakes? What size are the front rotors?

The 96 SHO has 11.6" diameter - compared with the standard 10.8".
The Gen4 have also 11.6"...
I was tempted to switch too, but since my rims (and tires) needed to be changed too in order to fit bigger discs (and also to provide bigger size tires to transmit that power to ground), I gave up the ideea.

Nope, the same front brakes were used on 96-99 Gen 3 SHO's and 01-07 Gen 4 cars- 11.6" vented rotors, clamped by single-piston calipers.

They are definitely a worthwhile upgrade on 96-00 non-SHO's.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought if the 3rd GEN SHO used dual piston calipers it may be worth to upgrade?

What does one have to do to get dual piston calipers? I'm currently using 16" rims. Upgrade to 17" rims?

Thanks.
