01 Sable ls premium wagon, duratech engine bought about a year ago; very happy. After pumping gas, turned key to start and no dash lights went on, no crank just dead. Lifted hood, battery connections tight, heard a "click" from a relay, possibly, toward the firewall. Got back in the car turned key started right up, ran fine. Anyone out there have this happen to them? Learned a lot from everyone already, first time asking a question. Thanks.

Just because batt connections feel tight and look OK at a quick glance doesnt mean they are good. Remove and clean the cable ends and batt posts. Also check / clean batt to engine ground and engine to frame ground.

Thanks a lot. Had to replace thermostat/ hose assembly so had the 1 year old battery out 6 months ago. Cables, clamps, all clean with no visible corrosion. Rechecked that again and all is good including the grounds. My concern was that click I heard wondering if the Sable has some sort of main electrical relay. Couldn't see one on the Haynes schematic but just wondered if anyone has had a similar event. Its been real hot here in NC, don't know if that could be related. Anyway, thanks again for any suggestions.
