Have a 2000 (with 155k) wagon with rear discs. A couple of times now the ABS light has been coming on intermittently. Seems like the ridges or splines (whatever they are called) on the rear brake hubs are getting too rusty for the sensors. I have cleaned them up with a tooth brush a couple times (tough to get anything else in there) to get the loose rust out, but after a couple months it starts up again. Anyone come up with another fix or do I just need to replace the hubs? If so, how tough is replacement?

Sheila, does the brake cleaner slow down the rusting? If I could spray on something that would control rusting for say 6 months at a time, that would be preferrable. With 155k, something major like the tranny could go in the interim. Otherwise I assume I'll also have to remove the calipers & brackets as well to get to the hubs for replacement.
