Can anyone tell me what RPM the engine should be spinning at when driving 60 mph on a flat road in a '91 Sable with a 3.0L and a 3 speed OD trans?

Also, does anyone know what the stall speed is of the factory converter? I put the trans in 1st gear, put my foot on the brake and put the gas to floor and the tach said 1800 RPM. Does that sound correct.

I have a Vulcan engine as well, but it's in a 97 GL. The gear ratios are the same, though, so the RPMs at 60MPH should be the same. My car is just over 2000 RPMs at 60 on level ground. Hope that helps.

Thanks silv!

That's exactly what mine spins at. That's good news. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for the poor fuel mileage on this one (~17 mpg @ 75 mph). I guess I'll run some injector clener through it.
