Exactly as the title says. 2000 Duratec. Replacing the valve cover gaskets and want to make sure that the bolts are tightened correctly. I don't want the blown out spark plug thing happening!

What's the torque on those bolts?

on the 2000 at least the bolt actually has a stem thing on it that will bottom out when they are seated as soon as you feel it bottom out snug it up a little then you should be good to go

Cam cover has nothing to do with the spark plugs blowing out.

Torque is very light. I torque anything in aluminum by hand, but the book spec is something like 8Nm, or 70 in-lbs.[/b]

I forgot to add that the spark plugs to that question, probably changing those out too.

What should they be torqued at?

Thanks for the replies on the cover by the way :D

Do you have aluminum heads? I usually torque spark plugs in aluminum heads to 156 INCH- lbs with anti-seize on the threads.
