This weekend I will be replacing a blown head gasket on my 98 Ford Taurus SE 3.0 L V-6. I have a good set of tools, but I'm sure I will have to run to the auto parts store for some stuff. I would like to keep these trips to a minimum, can anyone think of any unecpected stuff I may need? Thanks, Tom

i would do both head gaskets while you are tearing things apart. you never know what you are going to find till you get into it. if you have the extra money pick up extra parts. you can always return what you dont use. I would do the water pump, fluid change, thermo stat. timing belt. and def, use new head bolts.

Permatex gasket remover is nice. You have a torque wrench, I assume. The push-in fuel line disconnect tool. Coolant and distilled water, and enough oil for 2 oil changes. A few feet of various diameters vacuum and fuel hose (good to have some extra around when you need some).
