I need to replace the rear speakers on my GenII and I am looking for any help anyone can provide. It looks like I need to remove the rear interior panel to get at the speakers. To do that it looks like I have to remove the rear seats.
The Chiltons says that rear seat removal is on page 10-36; which turns out to be the glossary, wtf?
Is there an easier way to replace them?

You can go from the inside of the trunk and remove them, I think it's a medium Phillips.

My 93 had rear grills that you could pull off.

Alls you gotta do is take out the speaker grille, unscrew and disconnect current speakers, connect and screw in new speakers, pop the grille back on

Atleast thats what i did in my 94.....

The screws are going down from the top so I can't get at them from the trunk.

How do the grilles come off? Stick a flathead screwdriver in and pop them off? So i need to slide them in a peticular direction or something?

No, you should just be able to pull them right off. Nothing special needed.

Actually they shouldn't, you should be able to pull the top, the end closer to the rear windshield, should be able to come out and then they should just pop right off.

I got them off. Really easy thankfully. I just dont like forcing something unless I know how it is supposed to come off.
