This is in a 97 Sedan (see sig). The passenger-side rear seat-bealt doesn't retract at the shoulder. If I remove the triangular trim piece thru which the belt goes, it's working fine. As soon as I put the trim piece back in place, it jams up and doesn't retract anymore. The trim piece is properly installed (once the 3 clips snaps in place, you know it's in properly), it doesn't look damaged or warped.

Any ideas? I have 2 young kids and need that belt to work.

Thank you.

Can you keep the trim piece off? I have heard of the seatbelt retractors being so weak that any extra friction can cause them to not retract.

Well, it's the size of the whole C-pillar. I'm going to try maybe enlarging the hole where the belt goes thru it and maybe spraying some silicone lubricant...
