My friend has a 2001 Mercury Sable with the automatic climate control. He used to have a deck in the car and now he wants to go back to stock and cannot find the RCU connector that he cut off when he installed his deck. We found one at the junkyard but the wires are in different pins and are different colors. Does anyone has the wiring digigram for both the RCU and the audio harness in the trunk? I was going to use the RCU adapter we have and add/change wire placements.

I'm confused. He had electronic climate controls (EATC) and and aftermarket deck? That really isn't possible with out extensive modification. Do you mean the rotary climate dials?

any way. he cut the plug @ the RCU  . There are 2 @ the RCU. one for the speakers the other for power and data. Which one was cut?
Or did he cut it at the Dash.

The diagram can be found in the Topic Finder. States for 2002 but covers 1996-2007.

No he has the EATC but he had the deck in his glovebox and "turned off" the stock radio/clock. And it was cut 3-4inches from the RCU. Not sure why haha. But thanks I'll check out the diagram.

I just talked to him and he said he has the RCU without the fins and the plug needed is the one all the way on the right.

Would this be the same for an '05 Taurus? I had read on another thread that this connector could be used to connect a 12V Acc wire, but I'm not seeing anything there. (I'm trying to connect an iSimple that needs a ground and the above mentioned red wire.)

Thanks in advance --
