Hi TCCA,

I'm back with my 3rd Taurus after a long time away. This is 2015 Limited AWD, the wife's car. 68K miles.

There is a rattle when hitting bumps at the right rear wheel. From my past experience with Fords the sway bar end links always go bad. I took a look but I can't tell if they are bad.

Anyhow, can someone give me some advise on what this rattle could be? What are the most common items to check? I jacked it up to look underneath and nothing seamed out of sorts.

Hi guys,

I couldn't figure it out an took it to the dealer. They replaced the sway bar and sent us on our way. Pulling our of the parking lot we still had the same noise.

After round 2 at the dealer they said the rear break on the right side did not have the brake pad to caliper clips installed. This was done at different dealer before we owned the car.

Brake pad clips installed and all is good now.

Thanks

Wow, glad you got it fixed... more concerning is the dealer technician that diagnosed it as needing an entire rear sway bar when it was the caliper pad clips. Someone did a boo-boo there on that one.

I hate to say this, but many dealer mechanics dont know crap about any cars, much less Ford specific issues. That is one of many reasons I do all my own diagnosis and repairs. The flat rate pay system is the real issue here.
