They are starting to give away used Gen IV's lately. Sometimes it is cheaper in the long run to just buy a new car. Thats what I did when my 96' Grand Am GT needed about $400 in repair every few months. Probably one of the smartest things I ever did.

Sorry to hear about the retirement

But at least you're getting another!

Gen 4's are getting pretty darn cheap... the main reason I would recommend that over a Gen 3 would be the tranny... but other than that either one is good.

Very true... I hear adds on the radio telling me I can get anything with No Credit, Bad credit, bankruptcy, everything else that looks bad, lol. You just have to watch what interest rate they're giving you. That's where they'll get you.

btw... I would suggest going to a Ford Dealership and looking at Certified pre-owned Taurii. I have come to put a lot of faith into that program. It comes with a free warranty and all kind of other goodies (plus you can buy an upgraded warranty - ESP). I think they really do an excellent job of weeding out the bad cars.
