Good evening all:

I'm new to the forum and I own a '99 Taurus SE Duratec wagon. I've owned the car for four years, I'm the second owner, and it now has about 160,000 km. It's been a very good car for me, but I want to make it handle better - build a budget Audi A6, if I can. Here's what I'd like to do:
i] 225/50-17 Continental Sport Contacts on ASA AR1 7" rims
ii] Eibach springs and KYB struts/shocks on all corners
iii] Cross-drilled front discs
iv] Reflashed ECU to take rev limiter off of top gear.
v] Additional lights to make night driving safer - I'm thinking Hella HB5 55/65 watt bulbs relayed to a set of small driving lights to work in tandem with hi-beam only.

Do any of you have information on a reflashed ECU? What's been the group's experience in lowered springs and wider tires? What sets of discs and pads work best? Any information available on the best place to mount driving lights?

Thanks for all advice,
Dave Jorgensen

A proper flash is going to cost some serious money. for me a few hundred dollars is serious money.
The best flash is done with dyno testing in a performance shop.

What you want removing the top end governor can be done by member shoz123, pm him.

See SHOZ123 for the XCal for tuning its worth it.

We have most of the suspension upgrades you could need: SHO Source

For brakes, cross drilled wont do much but 11.6 brakes will and we have a few upgrades here: SHO Source
