Question: Are replacement motorcraft gen3 front strut mounts two piece?

I am replacing the front strut mounts on my 1996 Sable.

The replacement mount is motorcraft AD-1037, 5F1Z-18183-AA.

The bottom side of the new part is not the same as the original.

The new part has a flat surface with a small depression around the metal bushing in the center.



Is this part of a two piece mount?:huh:

No the mounts are 1 piece.

I was concerned because the lower washer appears not to contact the metal bushing of the mount when test fitted.

So when you assemble the strut the bottom washer has the cup side up?

I looked at my mounts and you are missing a piece. You should return it. There should be a big rubber piece in there.
