Hey guys, I just finished the CAI for the Sable/Taurus' with Duratec Motors. Here are some pics, let me know what you think. Im wanting to offer these to the public. But I want to see what kind of responce I get. I will take on only one order at a time, seeing that I am making these out of my own home. Im asking for $125 for the kit. Which includes Couplers, Clamps, and Tubing. The MAF Adapter will have to be aquired through Draxas (or any other aftermarket supplier). Filter as well will have to be aquired through an outside supplier. If you insist that I get a filter for you. Then the price will rise depending on filter. Well here are some pics, please any feedback is GREATLY appreciated!!

To save on costs, the tubing was made out of Aluminized Steel.

are you going to be doing one for vulcans anytime soon, or does this one also fit the vulcan engine? If so, will it fit on a GEN 2(I'm wondering because you have a GEN 3)?
Thanks

Jeez Sal, that looks vaguely familiar... :D You should have got the aluminum tubing I told you about from AirFlow Systems though. But looks good still. :thumb:

Since most know that CAI's don't offer much of a performance gain and are mostly an aesthetic Mod the big question that should be on everyone’s mind is "How does it sound?"

At least I know it is on mine. ;)

I use breathers on my car and that is probably the reason my car has a small lean condition. But either way my car has always seem to run DAMN good.

Well, I'm not sure about breathers and leaning out... it's not my area of knowledge. I do know this, though- running lean for too long is very, very bad, especially if you tend to drive aggressively. You can toast your rings, or exhaust valve seals among other things. We have an engine in our lab that ran too lean for too long and we can no longer get full compression out of two of the four cylinders.

if you understand the PVC system, you willunderstand that the PCV valve is attached to a vaccum line, which draws air from the crank case. To replace it, it pulls fresh air from the intake line through the two hoses attached to the valve covers. Now, if you out breathers there a decent amount of air that gets drawn into the engine which does not get metered by the MAF.

That would be great :) I love the Blue that you went with BTW ;) So since you have the same sable as I, would you say it sounds better then the stock air box minus the whole plastic intake silencer pipe? I'm pretty happy with the way my stock airbox w/ K&N filter minus the whole intake silencer pipe sounds now but am curious how yours sounds.
