I have been working all week on the armrest. It looks alright but I might redo it in a few months we will se how it holds up to me kids. First I started by making a fiberglass mold of the back of each monitor. Then I had to cut it apart from the monitor. This took forever because I couldn't touch the monitor with the blade. Then I had to trim it to the right height. Then I hot glued them where I wanted them and sprayed it with spray glue.

Next I had to stretch fleece around to form the shape I wanted. The resin was the next thing to go on. once it was hard I had to trim away the extra fleece and sand it so I could put bondo on it to smooth it all out. Then I had to use finishing putty to fill in the little holes.

It had to be flawless because I was going to be painting it. And now for the pictures of the finished product.

If anyone is interested in me making one of these for their car I do have 2 Pioneer monitors and a Pioneer DVD player. It wouldn't take me that long to get it done either.

Lookin' good! I especially like the accent paint on the dash, around the gauge cluster. My only question is...why the three monitors? Why not just have the in-dash unit and the rear unit? The one near the ashtray looks like overkill.

The one in my dash runs my Nav system, so you can't see the DVD if you are using the nav system. Now get ready for over kill. I am going to put two more monitors in the rear. They will be on the pillar between the doors. I am also going to put one in the trunk. I am also going to put two 6 1/2" Kenwood speakers in the trunk. The monitor and the speakers will only play when the trunk is opened. Also there will be LED and neon lights that will come on when it is open. I am also thinking about a box that the front and rear are plexi glass and the other walls will be mirrored so you can see my chrome Audiobahn subs.

Here is a small list of what I have yet to do

8" sub box for the rear deck
Custom door panels for all four doors
(2) monitor in the rear pillar
one monitor in the trunk
(2) rear boxes that will be an Amp rack and battery box.
Custom sub box
custom amp rack in the spare tire well
amp rack on the trunk lid
and other little things.

Are you planning to stop driving this car? Monitors on the b-pillars could be very dangerous to your brain bucket in an accident. Also, of you are using the navigation system (and therefore driving, or soon to drive), do you really need the DVD running in the front?

I'm thinking, with all the monitors, you car is destined to get hit. Watch out for people following you when you've got them turned on.

I am fairly confident that he knows any monitor point forward of the front headrests must be off when the vehicle is in motion....as per the law, that EVERYONE follows

You think that's bad? Some kid in my neighborhood had an Infiniti (forgot the model) with 7 monitors. 2 in the visors, 1 in dash, and the 4 headrests. It's definitely more distracting for the people following him.

One idea I had was to make a mold for a monitor on the front of the ashtray but as you can see I have no ashtray. I took it out to put my navigation system in. I do want to make a cover to go over it.

I remember a couple months ago when people were getting in accidents from people watching porn on their in dash monitors and they were thinking about passing that law about no porn in the car. It's just funny stuff...

acreature, does this include in-car navigation systems? i'm curious. i think it's just as much of a safety hazard for someone's that's staring at their screen to see how many streets ahead their turn is as someone who may be looking at their in-dash monitor for whatever reason
