http://www.vindustries.com/taurus/scvulcan.html I found this site while i was poking around. D---ed if that engine doesnt look familiar...im sure that a lot of you have seen the site before. With that sort of an arrangement couldnt someone get a piece of thick aluminum stock and work out their own adaptor for mounting the eaton to the lower intake manifold? I know everyone tries unsucessfully to come up with an idea, as read in MANY frustrated post replies on the topic, but what this guy has going does not *seem* that complicated. And eatons are so cheap and plentiful, I saw no less than 5 supercoupes in the junkyard the other day (granted they were probably picked over). Ehh...so its a newbie post...give me time and ill develop the requisite cynicism... <_<

Yes you can s/c a Vulcan, you need to machine an adapter plate to fit the M90 onto the manifold. Then there's just the fuel system upgrades, you're gonna want a bigger MAF, and then tuning it all. Sounds simple but actually quite a bit of work to make it run really well, enough to be good as a daily driver anyway.

A new hood can be gotten for about 40 bucks, so i wouldnt be too upset if i had to cut some "speed holes".

You guys wanting to supercharge your cars should look into the newer centrifugal superchargers. They fit around your engine, not on top. Yes, they are expensive, but are very effecient and reliable, and you don't need hood modifications. Personally I don't think this kind of power worth the high cost. I would rather split the $5000 up between suspension, engine, and stereo modifications. I think when my car is paid off in 4-5 years some of this heavier stuff can begin.

Crazy ray's junkyard...probably 20 tauruses w/o front end damage, 40$ for a hood. Pick your color and i doubt it matches (mine doesnt).

althought i like the idea of S/c a vulcan. it has the cheap high cast pistons and rods, wouldn't the s/c break them. or what is the maximum amount of boost i can run safely on the engine internals?

Yes i saw this site a long time ago. Idea is simple at heart, rip off uppder intake attach blower to it. These are the obstacles:
-14# injectors on the vulcan suck and you cant get enough fuel to the mix
-adapting the throttle body to work with blower
-IAC needs new place also
-Basically look at the upper intake manifold.. see all those things on it you need keep many of them so the computer doesnt freak out
-Then ofcourse the problem becomes telling the computer you got bigger injectors

Yes i belive this can be done, infact i was gonna do it a long time ago and bought a blower but its been sitting here under my table for a while now project still on my to-do list.. fear it will never move from that list.

Also you cant use to much boost 5psi maybe (guesstimate) its a nice conservative number. DMX is using 9psi i think, i dont know how much work he did to internals and if the 3.8 internals are similar to the 3.0 or not.

Oh yeah it wont clear the gen 2 hood either, I was gonna make a "hood scoop" to take care of that.

Im pretty sure youd need a chip to run boost anyway and that would give you a good opportunity to take care of the fuel injector problem...i hadnt considered the other things too carefully...the whole one piece throttle body/upper intake manifold thing would probably be a big issue...

For any info reguarding the vulcan i advise everybody to visit a site called rogue performance, its based on a ranger but its the same engine, and the guy behind it is one of the biggest gear heads i know. seriously check it out!!!
