Hi everyone,
I have a 2001 Sedan SE. The antenna is a single section mast and I would like to change to an electric antenna. I've been looking for a used oem on ebay but I didn't find one. So I am looking for a generic model. There is a Peterson brand on Rockauto for about 50$. Do you know if this model can be installed on the Taurus 4th? Or do you have any other alternatives?

I installed a aftermark power antenna on 1989 Hyndai Sonata way back. As long as there is room for the motor and a power source you should be good. You most likely will need to make some sort of mounting bracket / place / holes. The antenna is in the rear, right? Should be room.

Thanks, it's a global audio project including the installation of a new car radio and replacement of the rear control unit by an amp. and I'm also replacing the speakers…

It looks like the electrical antenna wiring harness is already installed although the car is fitted with a base antenna. I am rather worried about the space available to receive the antenna motor and the fixing on the bodywork

I'd recommend go to the local pick and pull and finding one there, that way you can see and get pics exactly how it's wired and mounted, even if you get an aftermarket one you'll still know what wire goes where. Yes all models have the power hookup, it's too costly for Ford to make specific harnesses for each vehicle.
