Can someone tell we what they think might be causing the sound i am hearing?

I notice that when i decelerate i hear a "clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk" sound from the rear of the car. Initially it is rapid and as the car slows to a stop the "clunk" sound slows down and then stops.

Any help diagnosing would be much appreciated.

Does the car shudder or anything with the clunk? I'm thinking it's something to do with the breaks, are they disc or drum?

I'm assuming it has drum brakes in the back. Jack the car up and remove both drums and look for loose/broken parts.
If the brakes are fine, then inspect the wheel bearings. They should move freely and smoothly. If they do not, or you can jiggle the hub (the part with the studs sticking out), then it needs to be replaced.
