The 24F Maxx at Walmart is cheaper, has 3 year full + 2 year prorated warranty (vs 2 year full for 36R), 750CCA vs 650CCA, same reserve capacity of 130 minutes.

Has anyone installed it? It has a "ledge" for hold down which is slightly higher than the flare at the base of the 36R.

36R 10 3/8 7 1/4 8 1/8
58 10 1/16 7 3/16 6 15/16

Depends on mostly height. Extra 3/8" in length, nearly an inch in height. More narrow may not let the hold down work.
Try it and let us know.

Come to think of it, I may have crammed a couple of Interstate group 24's in '98/'99's. Don't remember if I used a universal across-the-top hold-down or not. I do remember using some cedar door/window shims, lol. Chart's correct, length, width and height are the key. If the dimensions are close, you can usually "Macgyver" it in there.

i think last time i looked at doing that the battery might have been too tall
and i was concerned it might hit the hood. as long as the positive and negative are
on the proper side, you can make it fit, but make sure its NOT going to possibly
short out on the hood when its down if its taller than the OEM battery.
As my buddy likes to say " its the girth not the length"
i remember once on one of my old bulls cutting out the end of the tray to put
a wider donor battery on it. i usually take the trays out and wash the crud off
of then and paint them if there metal.
