Hi Internet Nice to meet U, i got couple ?s 4 u, I hope can help me. i got 98 Taurus trying get road ready, the Battery keeps dying after bout week, it could B battery not sure yet? Wanna get it right, thats Y ask Pros like Yall. I did MultiMeter test and pulled fuses 1 at time, the multimeter fluctuates. Amps go from 17 to 56 up and Down, i dont understand that, is that Normal? Anyway MayB Yall can help, Lookin Forward Yalls Replys

see if alternator is warm after sitting not running for awhile
unplug dash radio or pull the fuses.

Not sure from the OP what's involved in the battery 'dying after bout week.' A week's worth of sitting, driving or being worked on? The best place to start is testing the battery

just to clarify:


taurus of that era sometimes had there cassette mechanism jam in there dash radios causing a slow current drain.


a shorted diode in the alternator can do that same. that's why to check to see if its warm when the car has not been running for awhile.


a plug in cigar lighter charger can sometimes do evil draws.


some cars had a trunk, glove-box, or under hood light which could stick on and cause parasitic draw issues.
