Only happens when braking at low speed or accelerating from stop. It does not seem to be related to turning. It's definitely coming from the front of me.

2000 Duratec.

Any ideas what it is?

Motor mount? End link? Struts mount? Sway bar? Half-shaft/CV? Ball joints? Tie rod ends?

Any suggestion on where to look is appreciated.

I got down there yesterday afternoon, and found the bolt on the front motor mount is a little loose. I tightened it up and the noise went away.

I don't know how the bolt came loose, but my best guess is when I replaced the AC clutch a few weeks back, I had a buddy help me lower the sub-frame. He probably loosened the motor mount by mistake and did not tighten it back.

Anyway, mystery solved and I am happy.

^ I was thinking that and/or endlinks. A loose mount bolt, cheaper and easier! My problem would have been finding it, lol!

Exactly! Who would have thought of it.

I was thinking the motor mounts may need to be replaced. When I checked the front one I noticed a slight sign of the bolt being loosened/tightened recently.
