but on my mom's 1991 mercury sable gs, 3.8.

okay i'm trying to figure out what's going on here.
now when you turn the wheel to the right it sqeak's.
but when you turn it to the left it does'nt do it.

it's in the wheel area, i'm thinking the lugnut area but the lugs are tight.
i don't think it be the lower ball joint, because about a few week's ago i checked it when the rack was being replaced . . . .

can someone give me some info please. . . .

could be a couple of things, sometimes balljoints do this when theye need lube, most are non greeceable so you have to buy a special needle that goes on your greece gun, it pierces a very small hole in the boot and you give it a few pumps. but the hole is so small it seals back up when you pull it out.

the next possibility it the upper strut mount, when these go out they can squeek when turned and/or knock when you hit bumps. not really sure on how to tell, probably use a screwdriver held up to your ear and pinpoint the noise.
