Well, the time is coming. I'm considering buying a new 2004 Ford Taurus with the Duratec soon. Hopefully by July or August; and I've been looking around at the local dealers to see what they have to offer and the price ranges.
Anyway, I'm wondering what I should do with my '94. It has the 3.8L (which has been very good to me). Should I try to sell it? I was thinking about just leaving it in the garage, tearing apart the engine, replacing it with some V6 Mustang aftermarket engine parts, supercharging it, and then replacing all the suspension. I realize this will cost quite a bit, but I think it'll be a fun project. I don't plan for it to happen overnight, but maybe a 1-2 year project. So basically by taking it slow I don't have to immediately dump thousands of dollars into it, but just spend a little bit each month, install, and just work until completion.
Which do you think would be the best for me to do?
I'd keep it for a project car. It's in good shape, however with the resale values on our cars, you may not get much for it. You already know the car inside and out, so you know its issues and strong points. Much better to start a project with a car you know about.
I think you should use it as a backup/emergency/spare car. Or heck, even if one of your friends/family/preachers/whatever are in a tough situation and need to borrow a car. And of course, it wouldnt hurt to throw on the occasional supercharger.
