My aluminum timing cover has a decent amount of pitting around the rear coolant port, enough to where I know the paper gasket will not work; hense why I am fixing it.

Can I try and fill the pits with JB weld or sorts and then use the paper gasket with a sealer or will the FIPG stuff work?

There have been threads about the use of the FIPG but I cannot seem to find any stating the long term results.
