Here are the insides of the Gen 4 radio. The lights are LEDs. I will be changing all of them to blue very soon.

there are 29 green led 2 yellow and 3 white bulbs

ESD, or electro static discharge is your enemy man!! Get that stuff off of your shag carpet!! Ever rub your feet on the carpet and touch a door knob... well imagion you touching the delecate microprocessors in your radio.. zap bye bye
get something thats safe to put that on... like antistatic plastic...

Ok, and to be constructive...
get some desoldering copper brade, and have at it and good luck! it will look tight

p.s. be careful resoldering this, a lot of small PCBs have very thin traces and will actually melt when having stuff being soldered to them...
