Anyone have experience installing a phenolic spacer? Preferably on a 3.8l. I found one for $65 on Morana's site and was wondering if that spacer can fit a Gen2 3.8l (its listed for 95-98...I guess for the 'stangs). What thickness is the most optimal? Also, how hard is it to install? I'm looking over the steps required to take off the intake manifold in the Haynes' and it doesn't seem so bad - a little bit more stuff to take off than a vulcan though =\.

Oh yeah, on a side note, is the intake manifold on a 95 mustang the same as a gen2 3.8l? I might need a second one for a back-up to drill and tap a water injection nozzle into it...

I had ALOT of trouble installing mine. It is 1/2", and the manifold bolts wre too short, and the EGR tube broke. You migt have to find longer manifold bolts, but they are long and metric, so it might take you a while to find them. As for the EGR, I had to buy a new tube, and cut it apart and attach the bottom half to my old tube to make it long enough. The EGR tube cost $60 from the dealer.

To make sure the 3.8L engines are the same, go to a junkyard and visually inspect a 3.8L mustang. I know that the ranger 3.0 and the taurus 3.0 are the same, so I would guess that the mustang and taurus 3.8's are the same.

all FWD 3.8L intakes have shorter runners and less vacuum ports than RWD 3.8L
