Phelonic Spacer

I think Bob sells them. They're supposed to keep your UIM cool and also slightly increase the length of your runners.

yeah bob made mine, havnt installed them yet, but its sweet, I plan on installing it when I get my new ported manifolds, l8er

I have some spacers now for the Vulcan, however they are thicker than the originals I made. At least one install went bad with them, because of the bolts being too short. If you want one of those, you can have it for the price of shipping. Just understand though that you'll need longer bolts for the upper intake, and will most likely have to lenthen your EGR tube.

Once I get fully back on my feet, I plan to get some thinner material and make some more, as well as spacers for the Tec, Essex, and SHO engines. At this point, it's difficult to give a timeline on that though.

I got mine from bob for $40 I think, and the gains are decent. The spacer is more for keeping the charge cool for other mods I plan on making, then for gains on it's own. For a '93 intake, I would SRIOUSLY look into getting a new EGR tube when putting in a spacer, mine snappedd when re-installing.

Yeah, I'd love one for the V8 too. Not too thick though.

So are these spacers significantly thicker than the gaskets on the Duratec. I was surprised at how thick those plastic gaskets between UIM and LIM and heads were when I was installing them.

What I meant is, the stock gasket already seems like it is an insulative spacer. What is the advantage of having a piece of phenolic instead of a thick plastic gasket.

Either I have the wrong Duratec gasket, or there's different ones. The one I have looks like a normal gasket for an upper intake.

My gaskets are the normal painted steel. I would like some at least 1/4" thick. What thickness do you usually make them Bob?

The first Vulcan spacers were 3/8", and worked out pretty well. Then I made some 1/2", which as I posted above, are too thick. I was thinking 1/4" also, just need to make sure it has enough insulating properties to make it worthwhile.

For the V-6 SHO spacer, customers will need to have there runners shaved whatever the thickness of your spacers will be (I think 3/8 would be perfect) because of hood clerence issues.
Just some helpful info.
