Hello.

Quick question: what's the peak RPM level for HP and torque in the Ford Taurus? And is it best to hit that RPM in normal conditions, or do I just want to keep the RPM low?

(1999 V6 24V DOHC Duratec)

Thanks :D

Peak hp is just over 6, and I think peak torque is around 4. And best for what? Horsepower is made by consuming fuel. For cruising, you generally want the RPMs lower. For pedal-stomping fun, you stomp the pedal.

Exactly, peak power output is only important in racing. If you are racing, yes, you want to keep the RPS high. But for daily use, the fuel economy and life expectancy of the engine will be better it you try to keep the RPMs lower.
