Figured I might as well make a little thread on this one since I did for my last beater...

Just picked this up ridiculously cheap down here in SC as my new beater to keep miles off the Fusion. 2005 Sable LS with the platinum package. It has two tone gray leather (perforated stopped for gen 4.5), A SPOILER, the aluminum bezel, special wheels, and a painted front grille instead of chrome. Has traction control too, and all the other things an LS sable typically has... sunroof, power driver seat, EATC, Mach with CD changer, keypad, heated mirrors with puddles, autolamps, foglamps, and the 3.0L Duratec... my first DOHC bull.

139k miles...Newer tires, cold cold AC, responsive brakes, drives perfectly straight and suspension does not clunk like on my old beater!

Now...why I got it so cheap... needs some exhaust work, a battery, and a windshield. Otherwise, needs a good cleaning inside and out to be up to my standards for a beater, although it is pristine inside! Bezel is not dinged and the leather is so perfect! Not sure how long I will keep it...The car has seen salt (was a student's car who is from Michigan) hence the rims being flaky and a bit of surface rust. But this is the first bull I have owned in a long long time that does not have any ROT! WOOO! What a feeling!

Here are the initial pictures... and I will update as I begin work. Thanks to Bull Geek for his free storage and help! :p

I will get some more pictures to share too... So yep.. back in a bull. I just cannot stay away.

$800! How can you argue with that?! Needs a bit of work... and then I may sell to a member or keep it. Depends how things go!

We knew you'd always find your way back! That's a great deal. I'd love to find a set of newer leather seats in very good condition.

VERY nice Paul. It's nice to leave the great white and rusted out north for a clean car. And for $800.... can't go wrong with that! I'd like to see some interior pictures as well as under the hood.

Congratulations. Now is a good time to do all that rust-proof prevention stuff. Unless your Sable will never see salt.

No just the flex pipe broke. The car came from Michigan so it has seen winter, though it has not seen a ton. If the member interested in it buys it, it may end back up north, so I will rustproof it.

More pictures to come, do not worry!

And yeah I call it a beater, just because it is my second car to put the miles on.

Seriously - for a MichiganFresh car, it is NICE underneath. Outside is in fantastic shape. You could hack the exhaust together with some rigging and worm clamps/exhaust u bolts, ignore the windshield and just drive it. It's a NICE car.

I have no room for another Taurus/Sable right now lol

So I have begun working on this vehicle.

There is an interior pic for those who were interested. Sucky, but I will get more as it gets cleaned.

I went to the parts yard today to replace and get a few minor upgrades and such.

I began tearing some of the stuff apart to assess how dirty it is, and while it is cleaner than most, I have high standards.. so the whole interior is coming out for a cleaning. Overkill, maybe.

The flex pipe needed for the exhaust is on the way now. Should be on the road within a week... if all goes as planned. With the girlfriend going out of town til next Monday, maybe I will have a bunch of extra time!! B)

Stay tuned.
