Looking for some clarification on this as I see in going through the forums that there are different PATS protocols for different models and different years:

If my key transmitter goes down (PATS) and I go to start the car, what should the outcome be in the following areas:

1. Will my starter fail to receive signal and the engine not crank?
or
2. Will my starter crank but engine gets no spark?

3. What will my PATS light be doing while the engine is cranking
4. What would my PATS light be doing with the key in the ignition in the ON position

And lastly, in a fully functional situation where the PATS is working, what should the light do with the key in the on position and what should it do while you are active cranking the engine/starting the car?
Thanks.
