2003 Ford Taurus SE - Vulcan V6

My check engine light has been on for a few weeks, upon testing I got P0402, P0301, P0316. From reading the forums I believe the latter two can be solved with spark plugs. However P0402 is the one I'm worried about.

As of today my engine is accelerating involuntarily. It stays at around 3,000-4,000 RPM's even when in park or stopped. Idle is also very rough. And the car involuntarily accelerates without me touching the throttle.

Most advice I could find involves changing the DPFE sensor, however I think this is obviously not the case with me. The code indicates an EGR system fault and is detecting too much flow.

I'm not exactly sure what that means. So any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated. Is it worth having this fixed or is it time to throw in the towel on the Taurus? Is this something that be fixed with a part replacement or is it more complicated?

Thanks for any help!
