Hello

The SES light is on and I retrieved the engine code of P0141 HO2S12 Heater O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2. This happened after having the transmission replaced. The engine runs rough or stalls during an idle. The transmission is an automatic; I have to shift to neutral in idle and put back in drive after giving the gas to to keep from stalling when coming to idle. My question is: is this related to the transmission repair and should I sink any more cash into putting in an O2 sensor considering the age of the car (1996). I'm retired and on a budget. Any helpful advise would be appreciated.

The heater circuit for that O2 sensor is open or shorted. Yes, most likely the transmission shop damaged something. They probably won't admit to it, so it's best just to take it to a trusted mechanic and have him repair the circuit. Hopefully the O2 sensor itself wasn't damaged.

The harness has likely been pinched causing either an open or short. Should be pretty easy to spot.
